Two things

1. Second carb does not open (piston stuck, valve does not open, etc)
2. Iginition system (advance does not work properly)

To check:
ad 1. remove tank and observe valve functioning. Remove cover of second carb, inspect piston
ad 2. Best way to check by swapping parts with identical bike. (CDI of '85 model is identical)

Good luck

Also, crap in the air filter (clean it anyway), fuel filter (clean any inline filter anyway - if there's no inline filter get yourself one - flush the tank and clean the petcock filter), or the exhaust (if it's been sitting or a while)

If it's not that, it could be that the jets or feed are all clogged up on the second carb, if you remove the carbs to check the second carb slide it's worth doing a full clean and check anyway. Takes a while, and you need to be methodical, but worth the effort.

Check the inlet rubbers for leaks / splits at the same time.

What's different?

Just got to ask yourself what has changed since it did start.

Last time this happened to me, it was caused by pulling the plug off many times - this loosened the connection between the plug and its cable or between the cable and the coil (I don't know which because I re-threaded both of them). After re-making those connections, what looked like a spark was suddenly a really good blue one! :rolleyes2:

Hope this helps!
