Tyre Pressures on 3AJ

I don't know what you guys run yours at, I am always carrying me (er....ahem.... 90 odd kilos) and a givi top box with about 10kgs in it (chain and jacket) regular to and from work. Mainly offroading over speedhumps (17 last count) and averaging 30mph.

Currently running 21psi in the front and 26psi in the back as per manual, should it be higher? It feels a bit weird on the handling still....

Also running Avon Gripsters if that helps, great tyres and great grip.

This is one of the few times the manual can be disregarded. Go by the recommendations of the tyre manufacturer. On my TKC's I ran 40 psi as the manufacturer stipulated. Stopped the squirrely feeling of riding on knobblies and doubled their life span.

Hi,

I have Avon Distanzia tyres on my 3AJ, and running them at Avon's recommended 33psi (f) / 36psi (r) okay.

I don't think there should be much of a difference between the Gripster & Distanzia?

Geoff

Footnote: I have just been looking at the Avon site, and the Africa Twin has both the Gripster and Distanzia tyres recommended for it - and they also recommend the same PSIs for both tyre types. So I guess you should try 33f/36r psi.
