TTR600 - fluttering noise?

Just a general question - not too worried, but ....... :helpsmilie:

When riding me TTR600RE, at low to medium revs, 1/4 - 1/2 throttle, there is often a slight "fluttering" noise. :confused1:

I put this down to the second carb coming in, and the slide (or butterfly) flapping about a bit? The bike is only 4500 miles and runs quite sweetly, no undue rattles or smoke. The slide could be bouncing as the diagphram trys to do its job at lower rev, and therefore higher vacuum?

Anyone else notice this noise with the daft twin carb YIPS ???? set up ?

PS - The bike recently started making a "buzzing" noise on start up for the first minute :rolleyes2: This is unrelated to the "fluttering" noise above......
But I found out it was the exhaust down pipe was just touching the front frame mount, and as it warmed, it expanded and moved off the mount :eek3:

I really need to run a file on the mount so there is a mm clearance :thumbup1:

Hi Pigford.

I have not noticed any "fluttering" noise in my 2005 TT600RE. The intake is stock, the snorkel is in the airbox and it has the stock airfilter. I am 99% sure the stock exhaust has been opened up a little so it probably is a little louder and may drown out other noises.

Could the engine be sucking air somewhere it shouldn’t?

I however hear a little extra noise right after I start the engine, right before the oil pressure builds.
