tt600r wiring.

Hi. i have a 97tt600r - kicker only, no battery. The headlight is appallingly bad, and i would like to fit additional LED lighting.
Can anyone tell me if there is a suitable point in the wiring to pick up a decent DC supply to run them?
Cheers.

You can get led headlights to the less load the better

I bought some Model 60 LEDs with a rotary dimmer from ADVmonster for my TTR. They come with 3 wires, high beam/low beam/ground, which are fitted with spade connectors, so they plug right into the original connector.

So are you saying the LEDs are a direct replacement for the existing bulb? As in they plug in and fir inside the headlight?

There are 2 options:

1. You get a LED H4 replacement bulb, and swap out the stock bulb for a LED. I did this with my taillight. ADVmonster LED Headlight! | Adventure Rider You have to make sure it fits.

2. You get some LED extra lights, that you wire in. You can for example mount them as extras.

Heres a example from ZenOverland with 2 x Rigid Industries lights with brackets mounted on a TT600R.

Personally i got a whole new fairing, with 2 x LEDs and a rotary controller. Its all ready to be plugged into the stock spade connector. Ill take a couple of pics later. I havent fitted it yet, but it looks like this. Fairing is here: http://stores.advmonster.com/dual-sport-fairing/

Heres the wiring diagram for the Advmonster lights + a rotary dimmer: Recommended wiring diagram with LED controller - ADVmonster. I can take some pictures of my fairing/LEDS/wiring if you want.

Cheers for that, the Zen Overland set up is what I'm after, I'm making progress with finding the DC output I need. Gabe at Zen is a top bloke, I am going there one day next week to get it all sorted.

That big fairing thing is hideous - sorry - definately couldnt put that on my bike.

I'm more into function over form ;) The TT needs some kind of wind protection in addition to better lights.

Keep us updated on the progress, so others can see how its done.
