tt600 kickstarter need help
 

hi hope someone out there can help
got an 85 tt600 just got it running and it sounds/feels like the kickstarter isnt disengaging properly theres a rattle from the right hand side that goes away if you hold the ks lever fowards also when kicking over every 3 4 kicks it locks up solid but if u hold pressure on it even lighlty it frees up and kicks again within 10 to 20 seconds are these two things related and anyone got any ideas where to start pulling apart to fix it

Hi, i have 2 TT600 but never had the side cover off yet, im sure that return spring isnt located on the locating pin, unless its broke or sprung back on the casing. other than that maybe theres a tooth missing on the kickstart shaft. Im sure once you take the cover off it should be noticable.

Same answer as yesterday.
THe kickstart mechanism is worn out in one or another of its parts, pawls, return springs etc etc . Time to open it up and take it apart , find the problem and put in new parts. Get a shop manual if you do not already have one. It will pay for itself if you do just this one job CRRECTLY
