TT600 electrical problems

Flippin' eck. I'm cursed with this bike. My indicators wont indicate. When I put a voltmeter across the two leads to the flasher relay i get intermittent readings of 0.2 volts with the handlebar turn switch on. Sometimes this goes up to 7 or 8 volts. In addition, when I rev the engine the voltmeter reading across the battery terminal drops from 14.08 at tickover to 13.5 or thereabouts when the engine is revved. Any Yamaha techies got any ideas as to the possible causes before I pour a can of petrol over the thing and send it on it's way.

Many thanks,

Dicky

sounds like a relay issue on the indicators. the 13.5v is still a fairly good number on charging output. my 84 XT does the same thing.

personally, I would suggest disassembling the indicator switch on the bars, clean your contacts there, then check the signal relay, if its dead, they wont flash, or do anything.

Thanks as always bobthebiker. I'll give it a go.

Cheers,

Dicky
