TT600 Belgardo kickster
 

Have 1996 Yamaha TT600 Belgarda 1996 model and I love it. The thing is I was in the middle of rebuilding her and had an accident, on my KTM. Of course I stuffed up my right knee, have received a new metal knee. But what the hell am I going to be able to keep Begarda? As starting is the issue. Another donor motor from elecctric start enginge ie:XT . It does sound simple but maybe sell and get another E start likeE start Yamaha 600. Advice appreciated. Thanks crew.Mick

Sorry to hear about your knee, I know well how bad knees can be. Hope it works out well for you with the new knee. What does the doctor say about kick starting? A no go or just "foolish"?
USUALLY just selling the bike and getting one that's ready to go would be FAR simpler. Swapping the motor is only the start of the work. A new wiring harness, possibly bigger battery box, switch gear with a starter button, ignition electronics and on it goes... into a money and effort pit...

Sad when you love a bike, but the time comes when it has to go. Or just put it on a shelf on display...

I'm currently struggling with what to do with my last race bike, a '76 Hercules GS175. Can't ride it on the street here, not legally possible, the garage is full, it's not in the same league as my DRZ400E for off-road capability, so now what?

Hey thanks Grant, appreciate your wise words, been a follower for many years, and a rider for over 50 years on off road. 70 years coming up and I'm not gunna let it beat me? No. Have larger Tourer Road glide Harley as forever, same this Belgarda is in same category.
The carbs are the most ridulous, design, Primary and secondary.. Rebuilty with sigma kit, but thinking maybe go Kehin FCR or similar not Lectron as would have top sell my house to buy one of them. And maybe left leg kick like the old days. Want a newer one with electric start but wife wants too much stuff at home done , so secretly channel finances intto old Belgarda, discreetly.She is aware of little changes like when the Yamaha turned into an orange KTM450 overnight...Thanks man.
