top cover leak
 

(xt600e2000) Looks like something is coming out between the top end cover(the one on top of the valves/camshaft) and the top. The fins are getting dirty on that spot after a while, the question is would this leak do anything to the copmression/power of the engine? its just a cover isnt it?

you should be ok ,it does sound like valve adjuster cover,yuo can check it s tight and it wont affect your power output.

It looks like this has gotten worse. I washed the bike on tuesday and now the cylinder looks like this. Dirty only on one of the sides.
