Speedometer Conversion

My 1986 XT Ténéré (1VJ) speedo is in KPH, is there a speedo replacement for this in MPH otherwise what is the best solution to convert this speedo to MPH?

You basically have three options:-
1. Obtain a UK m.p.h. speedo from Yamaha dealer or s/hand
2. M&P list a k.p.h./m.p.h. mechanical converter in their catalogue (£30.00)
3. Re-Mark m.p.h. settings on speedo clear face with paint or sticky fablon.
(definitely cheapest option but difficult to read at night)

ive been through all those options, but now i have 17" wheels on my bike so the kph AND mph figures are useless! ive had to get a cycle computer, so skylark, i have a 1 week old motrax speedo converter you can have for £10 if you want. you just put it on the wheel hub at the end of the speedo cable. mail me at DAVSATO@aol.com
