Yeah that is my next try. It might only do it with me on it. We will see and I will update Thanks

Easier if you sit down and listen at the engine.

Well jacked bike up and started bike up , put it into gear no noise. I did adjust chain put chain lube on. Will try again tommorow riding her and see what happens

jjrider 9 Apr 2017 08:32

Are you thinking the noise is coming from here , the whitish piece on the right upper corner, to right of sprocket, inside the frame where the swingarm bolt goes ? Yours will be red/orange I make my own out of nylon,

Also for swingarm protector I get TT versions for $13 instead of the $65 XT's . Problem is the TT's are made of a hard plastic which is loud clunky so it put teflon strips on top to take all the wear and quiet it down.

That is where I think the noise is coming from. I did change the plastic piece on the swing arm. But the roller like you said does move side to side' But only makes noise when I ride. How many rollers are there 2 or 3 ? Thanks

jjrider 13 Apr 2017 15:15

There are 2 .

This is one of the cheaper versions that work ok ,

A better quality version , I like the center rib but really not needed and you'll need to get a 8mm x 1.25 bolt since it doesn't use the oem one .

I made my own for one bike with bearings I have on hand for certain airtools I rebuild at work that used the oem bolt but for how cheap those are not worth it.

njenduro 14 Apr 2017 11:10

Now the one roller that the bolt goes through the swing arm is that difficult to change? Do I just shimmy up the motor then loosen the swing arm bolt and just pust out the bolt alittle. Just enough to past for the roller and hopefully it drops then slide the new one in. Thanks

jjrider 14 Apr 2017 14:52

You have to take the swingarm out from the frame completely to slip it over the seal cap . That's were the chain guide XTRocks linked to is nice , it slips over without the need to disassemble ,the US didn't get those but order from Europe to get one . The only thing I don't know is if it'll fit over our swingarm seal cap , it should but....

xtrock 14 Apr 2017 16:03

Yes it fits! But it will be expensive and if you just bought a new one just remove swingarm, you need to take the shock off too. Like i told you before, if you have a roller over svingarm its ok, they move even if they are new or old. I dont think its where the noise is coming from, and if you dont hear it when bike is on idle i dont see the problem. Buy some ear plugs and ride, happy easter:thumbup1:
