Hello, Milinka! Glad to hear XT also rules on the Balkan! For the luggage-rack try KEDO - Performance Products , they have the original Yamaha rack, but also the Hepco&Becker alternative. They can be ordered by internet, with quick delivery. They also have alu panniers. More expensive is Touratech AG but they also have stuff for the XT. Greetings, Hans van Langen.

I sold mine for 75 euro a few weeks ago... there is one on ebay right now, ends in one day... object number 310009320690.

From what seller says, his bike is 9 year old, so should be 1998. So it should be the proper model.

Thanks for helping guys, but it is hard for us from Serbia to buy something on eBay,because our country is not listed in PayPal.Only way to send money from here is to wire money from my bank to seller bank, and most of them dont agree to give account number.
Also month salary is about 200 $ average here,so you can see how hard is to get luggage rack-not to mention how hard it was to buy my bike. You have to work half of your life here to buy bike.:scooter:
So if any of you coming through my country-you are welcome to visit me and to ride bike with me.We have great off road lanes.Beautiful Fruska Gora-very wide, but not so high mountain (well,we call it mountain, but it is only 540 m high and 80 km wide-so it is just a big hill).
Here is link where you can see my bike and my family:

Best Regards and Merry Christmas to all of you.

Hiya Milinka, Firstly :welcome: to the HUBB, I see you only have a few posts.

Have you thought of Making a rack? I welded one up out of steel box tube as I too have little Money, I asked at a gate manufacturer and they gave me enough Steel to make 3 racks for 6 Euros! I do have a MIG welder so I suppose am fortunate in that aspect.... the cost of the Ammo boxes was about 20 euros..... but I paid too much for them as they were brand new unissued ones. I could have got them for 4 euros each had I looked hard enough..

here is a picture of mine with 2 ammo boxes bolted onto it with self tapping "TEK" screws.

just for curiosity, post this picture... if you need only the rear luggage rack, and you can weld, or have a friend that can do it, you can try to do something similar.. maybe take some copper tube to make a model\tests, and then use steel.

The side luggage frame is easy also, the problem is that side boxes are expensive... used Hepco boxes are about 300 euros. Or you can use ammoboxes, like martin says... that's a good hint. Depends for what you need them: everyday use? Long trip?

Yes,this rear rack is what i am looking for.Perfect:thumbup1:
Is that home made rack?

cyberzar 26 Dec 2007 11:23

This is the original hepco and becker, you can probably find other pics in Hepco and becker website. As said before, if you or a friend can weld, can build a similar one with low cost. I can also give you some sizes, because I have one for 90-94 model, that should be similar (but not exactly!).

Sure, if you say that a monthly salary is 200 euro, you can have it welded and painted for less than what you pay for it on ebay.

Otherwise, I think the one in the auction (that is basically the piece you want plus side parts) will not sell for more than 100, it costs 150 new (plus delivery). Also think that the seller will not have problem to send you bank details.....

Thank you Cyberzar.I could appreciated if you could send me a size of your reck, because i think that there is no difference between your bike and mine in tail.I used to ride 1991 XT 600 before this one,and i think that tail is about the same.Same as you,i am not 100 % sure, but i will check measure when you send me.
Thank you again

I will need this measures,right?
