Raptor 660 engine on XT600 frame

Hey there!

Probably some of you might have looked at a raptor 660 ATV engine and as me, noticed that they look pretty much the same... one major point is: IT IS WATERCOOLED

Well, if I had a raptor engine or could borrow one from a friends to see if it fits in the frame with a few minor adjustments....

Anyway, I just thought it would make an interesting project that's for sure so here it is...an insame idea from one crazy person to another lol

Hi

Well the bottom dont seem to differ much, I believe its the same as xtz660. But why bother. Just buy a xtz660 tenere and you are done :), Then you have a grownup xt with a bigger engine and watercooling and that is the shit ;) .

A Raptor motor shoe-horned into my XT6 SuMo chassis....is exactly what I've got in mind! :thumbup1:
But not before I slot the XT6 lump into my XT550 chassis before winter.:mchappy:

YamaHead don't waste your time the bottom engine mountings will line up but the water cooled system is a whole lot of extra work two rads loads of hoses and the head is completely different so upper mountings wont fit either go for new liner and 101mm piston kit you will get more power and torque plus the gearbox is also different on the raptor so that would also need replacing.

Why bother? for the whole heck load of fun of it! lol

The top head/frame clamping is probably the easiest, just make a bracket!

As for the radiators...you can even get a pair from a WR or YZ or even the DT125R and just weld some fitments for them and fit them in!

If I could only get parts for my XT at my island as easy as I can get them from ebay or whatever I'd be a very very very happy man!

Raptor 660 or 700 into XT600

I know this is an old post, but curious if anybody was ever able to stuff a Raptor 660 or 700 engine into a XT600? The raptor 660 was designed after the XT600 engine, so it seems it should be possible.
