question is xt600 and xt550 the same engine?

I have a xt600 and I am needing the right side case, my kickstart blew apart and broke.
I found cases but he says they came off a xt550, will they be the same?
Where are the part numbers stamped on the case so I can compare?

I've got both the 550 & the 600....
If your 600 is the early kick only version like mine, I believe they'll fit.

the XT550 engine & XT600 engine cases are interchangeable - as long as your XT600 was kick-start
