preload nut position picture
 

Hi
I took a picture of my rear shock and the preload adjuster nut and bolt/thread showing. Does anyone recognize if this is the standard position or can i turn up the nut more? (btw xt600e-2001)

It's been a couple of years but i'm sure my XT600E had the preload on the top with a c-spanner ring !

With preload, you can tighten it as far as the threads will allow but if you're doing it that tight, your sag settings will probably be way out.
