Try Partzilla.com
they're not in Oz but will ship there. Genuine parts at real good prices. Not sure what your import duty is like? Bob |
Appreciate your honesty, thanks. As much as I'd really prefer to support my local business (and Aussie in general), it's got to be competitive. I'll get the list together and hopefully do it in one shipment....

I buy some of my parts on line from the States, but lately I've going back to using the local dealer, even though there is a premium. Admittedly I'm lucky - I have a good local shop two kilometres down the road owned and staffed by some very experienced people. The good advice and friendship I've got there is worth far more than the saving I make by going off shore. Also how can I expect it to be there on a Saturday morning when I need an oil filter in a hurry if all the rest of the time I'm taking my business elsewhere?

Fair points. I think having a good local tips the scale in many cases. One of the nearer bike shops to me seems to spend more time and effort (and probably makes more money) flogging overpriced Harley Davidsons and associated leather jackets rather than being interested in bits and pieces for 'reconditioners'. I can see the business sense in it too.
I'm in Bayside Melbourne, so would welcome any recommendations for Yam dealers - I'll happily go for a chat and to look at bikes... Quote:

Not sure about Yamaha but forget getting anything at a reasonable price via a Kawasaki dealer in Au. In general I import all my parts including consumables for less than half of the local retail price.
Bricks and mortar retail is a dying business model in Australia....but for a very good reason....why pay twice what something is worth? Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2 |
Keep your total below $1000 and you won't be charges GST on the import.
Don't do too many parcels at once, space them out over time. Some parts are quicker as well as cheaper to buy OS, if your doing a big rebuild then may be buying stuff OS that is slow to get here and then balance that so it does not go over $1000 with the rest being bought here? |
