oil strainer

HI again mates:

I'm changing the oil this weekend and i'm wondering how many of you clean the oil strainer,is it really necesary or not?i know it would be better to clean it but, perhaps,it's not necesary.

Anyway today i remove all the items for removing the oil strainer and i couldn't remove the oil strainer,it's a huge nut and i just put back together all again. For removing the oil strainer is it clockwise or counterclockwise?

Other question,i was using a 20w40 yamalube but here in my country the tºin winter is around -2 to 20 ºcelsius, do you think that oil can stand that tº or not?i was for the safe option and i choose the 15w50 motul 5100 baecause the 10w50 was not available and the liquimoly was way too expensive.

is it good 15w50 for that temperatures?

it would be good for 6000kms or 7000 kms?

......i forgot about the oil,i know that API measures quality, the liquimoly is SH and Motul SG,yamalube is SJ,for that APIs,is the yamalube a better oil?i know the higher the API grade, the better the oil but in motorcycles it's way confused.

thanks mates and sorry for too many questions
