oil leak help please

My 1VJ has developed a small oil leak by the gear selector. It appears to be coming from behind the bolt that holds what appears to be the neutral finder(well it has a wire attached using a small star head screw)
Am I going to get myself in strife by removing this bolt and locktighting it? Does it have a crush washer? (i can't see one)
Is there a ball bearing spring etc behind it?

Sounds rediculously simple but I don't want to turn a small problem into a big one.

Thanks

Steve

dismounting is simple, nothing will fall out from inside.
loctiting the thread or placing a new washer probably won't solve the problem.
i bet the switch itself is leaking.
you can try to seal it from outside using a good sealant (silicone). or buy a new one.

Thanks Klaus,

I popped the wire off and gently tightened the other day after a long search through the clymers. So far so good so fingers crossed. Thanks for the helpful reply
