Oil filter cover cracked twice.
 

I have a problem with my XT600 2KF
Shortly after I boughy the bike the top end rattle became a knock
(No noise until it gets warm)
I have now had to replace the oil filter cover twice as it has cracked around the mounting stud. Hardly used the bike.
Could the problems be linked? or is it just a coincidence?

A lack of oil pressure/flow can cause all sorts of rapid motor wear, and therefore - knocks/rattles.
