No free play in rockers
 

Hi guys, I wanted to take a good look at new-to-me 88 Yamaha xt600.
Last week I started taking her apart. I got to the valves and although she runs great and makes no serious noise, I wanted to check the valve clearance.
I've done this on my 89 xt a couple of times, so I expected no issues.
I get to the valves and my feeler gauge wouldn't fit in either of the 4. I loosened the nuts and only then did I realize the rockers were not moving.

I lined up the "T" mark on the flywheel correctly...any idea why the rockers are not moving?

Hi,
Have you checked your cam chain? Take out the cam-tensioner and see if the chain is broken.
