Hi, just joined the forum and am already finding lots of good info on this site.

But I do have a question and am hoping someone who knows the answer might chime in.

I recently purchased a 1994 XT600, 3UY model, and am wondering what the API oil grades are and what is acceptable to use in the bike.

The grades reflected in the owners manual call for SE or SF or higher iirc.

Are those the only grades I may use or can I use the SN grade? Will it cause clutch slippage problems?

Avoid any that say "energy conserving " . Otherwise your looking for JASO-MA designation.
