My XTZ660 Tenere nearly finished!

HI,
Just thought i'd share some pictures and mod's that i've done to my Tenere. I bought it new in the summer and got a great deal on it from Irelands motorcycles as its a 2009 model in the generally unpopular red colour (i've come to like the colour). Mods that i've done:
So far I have only done 300 miles, still trying to get used to the 'single' engine! I will take it to the alps in the spring for a good test run then hopefully a 3 month ish adventure in 2012! Hope this helps anyone doing a few bits to their Tenere! James |
I love the colour, but unless you want to wake to find a flat battery one morning, wire the heated grips through a relay, as invariably one day after a long cold ride you will rock up to hotel / camp ground and just want to get settled and leave those grips on, or someone else will fidle with your switches and turn therm on for you.
Wiring through a relay is easy, you just need a switched power supply, the number plate light is a good one if you always ride with light on. |
Nice bike... Thats a lot of add-ons for a bike that isnt broken in yet :D
Hope you will enjoy the bike :) |

Thanks ofr that, I've already had the pleasure of a flat bettery twice! Once was definatly due to the grips, the second i'm not sure. I will try the relay option as the grips are starting to bug me. I was also thinking of putting a Westco battery in as they are the best known batteries for the Tenere's that I'm aware of. As soon as it stops snowing and thunderstorms of rain i'm hoping to put some proper miles on it. James |
