I clean mine with the same stuff as my foamfilter on my wr250r (just regular foam airfilter cleaner). The KN oil is speciel tho', but comes in a small bottle which oils a lof of filters.

For extended trips I dont bother cleaning filters, just keep a spare and change it. RTW stuff is different tho, but 20.000 miles and no filterservice seems quite good to me.

I'd think regular kerosene, or gas/diesel in a pinch should clean it all of, gas could be kinda hard on the filter. Havent tested tho'

Thank you for the replies. I just ordered the OEM air filters and frame from Ebay. ;)

Installing air filters

I have a newbie question. I just received my air filter frame for my 34L and I am about to purchase the air filters. Do I have to purchase and install both of the filters? How do I install the filters onto the frame? The oval one goes inside and the cuboid shaped one goes round the frame from outside?

Sorry for the stupid question but I didn't have the original filter for benchmarking. Thanks in advance.

If yours is the same as mine are there is one that fit over the screen part and then the other one goes over the entire unit.
