Just how good is an XT6 ?

This good - YouTube - R1 vs XT600

Remember, the XT is a Trailee NOT a Race bike. The Big R1 beats it but the little XT shows it's worth on the corners...

ENJOY.....

It doesn't show that at all..... the R1 pulls away like he is asleep, so the XT gets to the first corner first and takes that at a good speed. After that you get over 4 mins of R1 while the XT must be absolutely miles behind ! Not a good comparison at all.

Aw... and I was hoping the XT would have come back past in the final frame...

On those high speed roads, well the R1

I agree the rider on a bike is much more important than a car driver might expect, as we can see from what Rossi has achieved. And the Isle of Man, especially off the circuit where the roads aren't quite as good and (at least during the TT period) a lot of riders aren't familiar with them, is a great place to prove it.

I was doing 25,000+ miles a year on my old Super Ten. With a black flip up screen and twin headlights (which for the youngsters was quite sporty when I was a lad...) I would catch up sports bikes easily on the twisty roads down to Peel and Port Erin - they would pull over on the next straight to let me past ! When I passed at what was probably my top speed and they realised what I was actually riding they would come screaming past on the next straight and try to block me in to the next corner :) What fun !

Having said that, my Super Ten had a massive power and tyre advantage over an XT600 - I could easily beat a bank manager on his ZZR1100 but anyone on an EXUP who actually knew how to ride it would have left me for dead. And those basic facts will always be true - enjoy what you ride for what it is.

I do not condone the passing techniques used but its just what we do in California.

By the way, that clip is great - love it ! I can see why the police take an interest though :)

The other one obviously isn't his best.... its actually easier to pull wheelies like that with someone on the back :) But I might be more scared of the girlfriend's reaction too...

Utter Madness!

Found this one whilst searching UTube for XT films -

YouTube - highway-german autobahn....motocycle race

Pretty stupid behavior on a public road in my personal opinion but I guess it's lawful in Germany?

Great video

A great video and this one probably does the bike more credit than my first one. How I wish I could ride like this (offroad of course)! :scooter:
