is this an R or an X
 

Hi there,

Just bought a bike and it's XT660X on the website but XT660R on the dvla registration.

Firstly, :welcome: to HU.

From appearances, that is an X with 17" wheels front and rear and the better looking alloy swingarm, rather than bland steel on the R. The fairing is also of the smaller type that matches that of the X (the R drops further toward the ground).

The only other non-cosmetic difference between the X and R is the travel of the front fork being less for the X, which I can't determine from the photo.
