I may sell my xt600e, just wondering about the price

Hey I have a 1990 xt600e 3tb and Im thinking about selling. It has about 40,000km on the clock, a long range acerbis 20l fuel tank, and an arrow "paris-dakar" replica exhaust with motad header pipes (whole unit bought new 8 months ago). I also have a 17inch front wheel and rim, and it has an 18inch rear. I have also made a pannier rack for the bike but I wouldnt charge for that (its not that pretty, but but is light and does the job, I throw andy straps panniers over them). The bike its self is how you would expect a bike from 1990 to look, but its not a rust bucket, in fact I dont think there is any rust! The engine is still as solid as the day it was born, totally bullet proof! The only trouble it has is a bit of "sticky wiring". So how much do you think its worth? Im thinking maby £900-1000? Is that too high? Any thoughts would be good. Im going to rey to get some pics up soon.

If you wait till Spring you'll easily get a grand.

This time of year - £750 tops.

Hold out if you can!!!

sorry to threadjack yoashman and tell me if im out of order, but im wondering the same about my 03 xt600e. Im just not getting the use from it and thinking of selling it on in the spring. It has 23000miles and is in mint condition with motard 17" wheels fitted motad header etc. advice on approximate price i could be asking appreciated. pic in this thread thanks http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...229#post217456

Yeah totally, I was going to wait for spring! Good stuff, I figured about that much. Plus Im still planning on doing a bit more work on it over then winter anyway. Cheers for the input!

No worries gav! Im selling mine because...(sorry xt people!)...I want to get the xr650r! Dont get me wrong, the xt600e is a great bike, but Im just used to bikes with a bit more power, I had the '04 ktm 950 Adventure S for afew years, and just really miss the "OOOOOOOOOOOO SSSHHHIIITTTT" factor. If I could I would keep the xt and get a gnarley dirt beast and keep the xt for the road, but I cant afford to have 2 bikes. Anyway, I havnt made up my mind for sure yet anyway, I do enjoy working on the xt, and it is a great bike for exploring. We shall see.

£750 tops if it's in good reasonable condition. If you wait for summer maybe £1,000 if you're lucky. Depends on condition really...

I bought my mint XT600E (1999) 4,000 miles a year ago for £1,600. I gladly paid over the odds (by about £200) because the bike was like new.

Good luck

1995, 18K miles, original and unmolested if a little scruffy, eBay, 900GBP in September. I'd say you were being a bit optimistic.

yoashman 28 Dec 2008 17:27

Ok Im gonna try and add a couple of pics of the bike, fingers crossed!

This sucks!!! Argh!!!! O well, need a break befor I throw the computer out the window!

Ruud A 28 Dec 2008 17:38

Looks like something went wrong...I only see red crosses.

I'm actually looking for a decent XT but a good one seems hard to find here in the Netherlands. How is availability in the UK?

BlackDogZulu 28 Dec 2008 17:50

I don't even see red crosses!

There are plenty of XTs in the UK, ranging from old dogs to minters. Have a look on ebay.co.uk. Perhaps someone could be persuaded to ride one over for you!

yoashman 28 Dec 2008 18:10

how did you do that blackdogzulu?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yeah there do always seem to be xt's going here, I bought mine from a friend of a friend, he didnt really want to sell it as he loved it, but I talked him round!!!! Like I said above I have made some mods to the bike. It is still bullet proof, its just the wiring that needs a wee bit of work, i just want a more high performance bike, thats the only reaon for the sale.

BlackDogZulu 28 Dec 2008 18:25

Below the message, go to 'Manage Attachments', browse to the pics and - most important - wait for them to load up. The trouble is that there is a filesize limit of 39KB, which is tiny. I had to reduce the pic above twice before it would let me upload.

yoashman 28 Dec 2008 19:13

Hey, Ive tried to resize the pics, but when I chop them down to 39.1 you cant even tell its a bike!!! So here is a link if any one wants to see

That is quite possibly the most annoying thing I have tried to do. Argh!!!! Thime for a good sit I think!
