how much for old tenere ?
 

Hi, need some help please!
"found" an old tenere, no sure of the age but its the model before the twin headlamps. its parked up in paris with a slight air of neglect, flat front tyre but not abandoned too long because the chain and discs are not rusty. 50kms on the clocks and it looks in original condition, original brush guards etc just looks abit tired.
If I can get the owner to sell it, what do you reckon is a decent price for it? Also, what else should I look out for?

blackjack the bike you have found is a 3aj just bought 2 xt,s in france 1 for me 1 for my bro 1500 euros would be a fair price but obviously start the bargaining a lot lower you never know good luck

Hi - If it's "before the twin headlamps", it's not a 3AJ. I have a completely prepared 50k km 3AJ for sale in the uk for less than 2000 Euro, so I would expect this one to be more like 1000 Euro. They turn up for about 1200 Euro fairly regularly in my local paper in that kind of condition.

sorry miss read in regards to headlights,i paid 1100 euros for 1vj 87 mod with a spare 1vj thrown in with blown gearbox

blackjack...i got kind of lucky, i paid 750 euro for a 96 tenere with 30k on the clock.ive spent a bit on it since ,but the bike has come in at around 1500 euros for an excellent machine,...new pipe,paint,bars,brake overhaul and complete tune up...she rides like a new one.....

Christ!!!, just had phone call from matey with the tenere. Offered 700 euros straight on the phone, he said no. will go to look at it and hopefully hear it running. Listerning to what others paid I will not go over 1200 euros.
