Help! Electrics completely dead on xt660z

Hi everyone, hoping I get some help as I'm getting desperate.

My 2008 XT660Z Tenere is dead. Having parked it the other day with the light on the battery ran down and couldn't fire the bike up. I removed the battery and charged it but on refitting it the bike was utterly dead - no clocks, instruments, lights, FI or anything. The only sign of life was a relay that the power sockets and grips run off clicking when connected. Suspecting the old battery I fitted a new one with the same result. I also swapped out the relay I mentioned.

I have, of course checked and double checked all fuses both by eye and with a multimeter. I've rubbed the power connections down to shiny metal. I removed the tank to have a look for dodgy connections or something obvious but no joy (I removed the heated grips while I was under there as they died months ago). I stuck the multimeter on a few connections like the FI plugs removed from the tank and they are getting voltage, so power is going places but nothing is happening.

What the hell? Is there some fuse somewhere I could have missed (checked main 30amp and smaller ones in both fuse boxes)? What am I looking at, a blown relay or worse, like a CDI that has just died? Bike is my only transports and I'm skint I'll sacrifice a goat to whatever dark god if it means an easy fix.

Thanks in advance.

I'd check you are getting power to the ignition and then check from it.

Yes you have to start at the battery, follow the cables measure and you will find out where power is lost.
