Fuel Tanks that fit XT600
 

I've just bought an old (kick only) XT600. It has an enormous, and very unattractive fuel tank. Does anyone know if a smaller tank, like the old XT500 one, will fit?
I want to make the bike lower too. Any tips?

What model do you have? Ebay.de often has tanks. I know there is a dealer here in Denmark with a 43F tank, but it may be a bit pricey as prices here are generally high.You will probably need a new seat, too.

BTW I am looking for a large tank, let me know if you want to get rid of your tank/seat. If you have a 43F we might be able to arrange a swap?

hi is this the 1984 34l model with the 30 litre tank, screw on filler cap and 1 petcock ?if so what condition is it and would you sell it on after you have got another smaller tank ? thanks steve

Hi I have a couple of XT tanks spare a large rather gummy one and a small white XT500 one I will post pics.

The tank fitted does have one petcock and a screw cap. If I can replace it with something the size of the old XT500 tank, anybody that wants the original one can have it - I dont want it. My problem is that I dont know what will fit. The bike is an import, registered 1983. The tank fits with two rubber bushes either side of the top tube, and is secured by two rubber mounted bolts at the rear. Does this sound like an XT500 tank? I realise that if I fit a smaller tank I will have to have a different seat. Thats no problem.
