err... what's my rim size?!!?
My bike is at a mates at the moment because I can't weld :oops2: (I can't do everythinh you know) the pannier rackage...
I've just ordered my tyres, but i need some security bolts/rimlocks for the bike... The bike is a 3AJ XT600Z with a 120/90/17 and 90/90/21 tyre size.... its standard wheelage, what size rims do I have so I can order my rimlocks/security bolts...:helpsmilie: Oh while i'm here, Tyre Pressures anyone?:helpsmilie: |
well
you have a 17" rear rim and a 21" front
but for ACTUAL sizes it is actually stamped on the rim itself.:thumbup1: Martyn pressure 1.50 bar front 2.25 bar rear WARNING!!!IF your mate is welding ANYTHING on your bike, you MUST disconnect BATTERY, CDI & RECTIFIER! or you WILL be ordering a new CDI & Rectifier........ |
LMAO tell him Martyn.
Now I'm going to sit back and see if some armchair rider says "you don't have to disconnect the battery CDI recitifier to weld the bike" Let the SPARKS FLY  |
You can weld with them on I have seen it done. :eek3: Seen people order new parts computers GPS to. You may want to take the parts your welding off the bike to check to see if there lined up right and straight. Bend them back have them welded and then put the parts back on. May want to check the frame to.

~Don't worry bout the welding its what he does for a living~ but over the tyres etc am i missing something? The V5 says decl'd manufactured 92, so it has a '92 plate, but it is clearly a XTZ600, but I got him to read the tire sizes, and those are what he read to me over the phone...but having done a bit of googling, i'm getting him to double check that it isn't the 18" it should be.... it defintley is not an XTZ660.. and the V5 says 1992, could it be a 'parts bin bike' made from what they had left?... but all these rim locks come in 2.5" or whatever, and i don't understand...Am i missing something?!! :confused1:

2.15 is also a popular rim width.

Stop!!!
3AJ has 18" rear rim!!!
Don't listen to these XT guys ... Auke |
go on Auke!

That would mean it has a 17" rear Rim, right? UNLESS of course, your gonna show me how to get a 17" tire onto an 18" Rim.... If you can.... I want video proof! :thumbup1: Martyn |

3AJ's are 18" rear. Chances are if it is 17, it's not an original rim / wheel. Not surprising concidering the age. |
Oops
I stand corrected.
This bike must be easy to wheelie ..... Agree, get an 18" tire correctly on a 17" rim, a bit of a challenge. Vice versa, did you ever try a 17" tire on a 18" rim, now that's a b*st*rd! Auke |
You are all right! (as you knew you would be) After all your posts I thought THIS cant be right, so I phoned him up and said "ARE YOU SURE IT'S a 17" rear?" he replied "on an XT600 yeah" I said "NO, ON MY TENERE." "oh he replied i didnt look... Hang on... sh*t mate no its a 18" Thanks Ray.. now I have to change my tyre order.... ANYWAY... back to my original question... I haven't got the bike here to read the rim (and i dont trust him now.. but he's good at welding) does anyone know what the imperial size of my front and rear rims are for the security bolts? :oops2:
|
Rim size
Front 1,60 X 21
Rear 2,50 X 18 :D |
