Cumft saddle
Hi all
Can anyone recomend a method of making an XT600E saddle less painfull Whilst we were travelling a sheepskin draped over it was quite good, but now we are back in wet England it doesn't seem such a good idea. I know Cornin do/did a replacement saddle, but that's a bit more than I was hoping to spend, any other suggestions or experiences gratefully received. Standing up all the way between South Wales and London isn't really an option |
Tried and tested system,
Ride more often until all the nerve endings in your backside die. It sounds drastic, but it does eventually happen, then you'll have the most comfy seat in the world ;-)... Dave ok,ok just kidding, If memory serves me correctly there is a company who advertise on the net and replace the foam and covering on your saddle to suit your exact riding purpose. They use your existing saddle base and charge around £70. I'll see if I can dig out the info... [This message has been edited by davidlomax (edited 11 August 2004).] |
Yes, I'd be interested in that info too!
I can confirm that an XT600 seat is not the most comfortable of things. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/redface.gif |
You could try speaking to Bumwraps in Worthing. They may be able to help.

Hi,
I have been toying with the idea of doing something similar to the following link: http://www.zr-7.com/seats2.htm In my case I have just got hold of another seat (just in case I screw up) and may have a go togther with a black covering. Was this the kind of thing you were thinking of? Ciao, Geoff |
Thanks guys
I was hopeing that there would be someone in the UK specialising in this sort of thing who would know from years of experience how to reshape the foam for max comfort, and save me a lot of time trial & erroring, but the last link may have inspired me to have a go myself too. Mark |
Mark,
The guy I got my spare seat from also recommended these people: http://www.motorcycleseats.co.uk/ Since it is midway between London & S.Wales, you may be interested? Iechyd da Geoff |
