Crashed bike, now engine won't rotate !

Does anyone have any thoughts why my engine will only rotate about 300 degrees ? The bike fell hard on both sides at speed but does not show signs of the engine cases hitting anything (crash bars did their job)

I have checked the cam chain is still in place but can't verify the cam timing as I can't get to TDC.
I have taken the top half of the head off, still won't turn any further, likewise with the rest of the head off. There was a lot of loose carbon on top of the piston.

Took the barrel off, now rotates OK.
I'm very puzzled

Any thoughts appreciated

Mark

The only thing I can think of is a valve seized or stuck in the open position?

When you crashed, was the bike laid on it's side with the engine running? If so, the valve may not have received sufficient lubrication & thus seized?

I've come across a stuck valve on a Z1300 before, similar symptoms?

Steve
