Coil/CDI wiring?

Hi all,I've got a 43F xt600 that I'm currently rebuilding and I've got a problem with the wiring...
The bike had the wrong coil fitted,it started and ran fine, well it did until it needed a rebore/inlet rubbers/clutch & gearbox:(.
The coil is longer than the standard one & is numbered 29700 and had 2 wires to connect, one orange one black, the CDI says 43f-51 so I presume that's correct.I got a original coil from a breaker and this only has 1 wire to connect.I think the black wire on the non standard coil was an earth,is this right?
Whats puzzling me is that with the standard coil fitted there's a spare, sky blue wire coming out of the CDI loom, can someone tell me what it plugs into.
Thanks in advance.

but I can't see a blue cable coming out of the CDI, maybe it was somehow replaced\changed...

Blue wire

I think this blue wire has something to do with the sidestand / neutral switch protection. You will probably not have to connect it to make the engine run.
You can check wiring diagrams of later models; Yamaha uses the same colors throughout all models.

Thanks for the replies,I think I'll tape the connector up and see what happens..
