I was picturing the lower bearing on the lever itself. Suzuki uses those thrust bearings on the clutch itself to help smoothen it out when under pressure. #14,15, & 16 all need to be replaced together .

.

Why you have to replce the pushrod 15?

jjrider 18 May 2018 02:30

Generally thrust bearings are replaced with the hardened plates they ride on . When the bearing goes bad those plates(actually races) will have bad spots as well . Maybe not in this case, I don't have one to see how the bearing wears on them , if there is no signs of bad spots/pitting/galling from the bearing failure it's fine.

Right, I have removed the oil pump and took some photos of it and also the teeth on various parts. Do these look okay to you guys? This is as far as I intend going with checking for damage. Aside from splitting the cases is there anything else I can check or do?

Looks good to me:thumbup1: Nothing up in filter or frame filter?

awolxt 18 May 2018 17:39

Phew ! Thats reassuring to hear !

I had forgotten all about the frame filter :oops2:
Cant see anything in the oil filter but i might pull it to pieces just for the hell of it. ive ordered a new clutch kit because there doesnt appear to be much meat left on the friction plates and they have had an adventure with the bearing disintergrating so i thought it for the best. I will compare them with the new ones.

The kit comes with new springs which i will have to find out how to fit
Cheers for the imput xtrock!

looks like a happy pump to me, but sure clean all filters.

After looking at the new clutch springs that came in the kit i can see that they fit at the front of the clutch plate. Originally i thought (because there was six in the kit) i thought that they must be replacements for the six springs in the rear of the clutch basket. I realise now where they are for.

I think you need to buy new basket(primary driven gear) if you want new damper springs for basket, are they very lose?

awolxt 22 May 2018 13:34

No i had got confused. Springs on the basket look fine to me xtrock. I was only thinking of changing them because i thought they were the ones that came in the kit. When the kit arrived it was clear from their size that they were the replacements for the ones on the clutch plate. Quite relieved to be honest.
