Centre Stand for XTZ660

I am seeking some help in locating a centre stand for an XTZ660. I have contacted many companies, however most of them seem to have stopped production for this bike. It's a long shot, but I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

According my infos, no one company produce centre stand for our lovely XTZ 660 bike at the moment. Try to find used one from different tenere forums or ebay, or modify centre stand for 3AJ Tenere, but you need to work a lot. But, why do you need it ?

AnteK, XTZ 660

I'll answer my own question...

After exhausting just about every avenue, I managed to contact African Queens who still produce a centre stand for the xtz660. It looks like a well made item. www.africanqueens.de. Also look in their shop at https://ssl.kundenserver.de/s7427041...dex.shopscript under Produktubersicht and then Haupt/Servicestander (German!)
Thanks AnteK for your input, modifying a 3AJ model was also an option, albeit a reluctant one. In answer to your question, I was hoping to put one on to make maintenance a little easier in the workshop, and on the road. Thankyou for your help.

Hi All

I have checked the links in the previous post and they still work.
Has anyone purchased a centre stand for the XTZ660 from them?
I'm interestred to know how it went with shipping, fitting and how well it works.

Thanks
Damo

OEM Stand

I included the Yamaha one in the deal when I purchased my new bike. Easy to use and on level ground lifts the back tyre about 40mm clear of ground.

Available in Australia at TUV approved Centre Stands from Hepco & Becker, SW-Motech - Motorrad Garage - No 1 Supplier of Aftermarket Motorcycle Accessories.

OFF-THE-ROAD | OTR centre stand Yamaha XTZ-660 | buy online

I have tried already all the other links above but they only have centre stands for later models. I bought one of these 3 weeks ago. Costs about $220 Aussie bucks, takes 2 weeks to get here and fits perfect.

Hi Softy
I checked your profile and I see you have a 96 model Tenere, that is good to know. I was a little worried about ordering from on site where I could not read much. Did you use there online ordering or did you email the details?
Thanks for the info
Damo

Hi Damo,
I was a bit worried at first but I spent weeks trying to find other options with no luck. I asked them a couple of questions first and their communication was really good so I just decided to take the risk. I ordered online and paid with paypal (proof of purchase!). They sent the DHL tracking number within a couple of hours and I tracked it all the way here. It did take a couple of weeks to get here so that is my only complaint.
I'm actually going to order the header pipes from them too as the price seems good in comparison to anything else around. There are used ones on Ebay for more than they are selling new.

I actually just realised they will be away from 22nd Nov till 13th Dec so unfortunately you will have to wait for them.

Hi Softy

How did the centre stand go after you fitted it
Does it work OK?
Was it worth the money?
I'm about to order one and would appreciate the feedback to know I am ordering something that works

Hi Damo,
It just bolted straight on. It bolts on using the same bolts that hold the footpegs on. It only took a few minutes.
It works well but you need to use it a few times to get used to it. If you're small or not very strong you will probably struggle. My gf can not get it on to the stand no matter how many times she tries. It's quite difficult to lift the bike up when it has the panniers/top box on as there's nothing to grab on to. But without all that stuff it's ok. It makes maintenance/repairs/flat tyres much easier. Lubing the chain or fixing a flat in the bush is childs play now.
To be honest I didn't want to pay that much for a centre stand but I searched everywhere and asked several people and this was the only one I could find from a reliable source (off the road.de). However now it has been fitted for a while I have long forgotten the price due to the convenience it has given me.
Cheers
Greg
