carb rebuild kit?
 

I wondering if any one had a line on a carburetor rebuild kit for a 84 - 89 model XT. I cant for the life of me find a rebuild kit for this old thing. I fired her up for the fist time in months today and for some reason shes p***ing gas all over my drive way and its coming through what I think are vacuum lines. Anyone have any ideas why? Much appreciated.

Are you sure its not just over flow from you carb bowl? stuck needle on the float?

Tap hard on the bowl with a screwdriver & it should stop the flow of fuel (it dislodges the tiny bit of gri/dirt)

Yep, stuck need coming out the vent/overflow. The carb probably doesn't need a kit just a good clean and some TLC.

Well it turns out a throttle valve was stuck and was keeping the needle up. So I cleaned it and it moves freely now. Hopefully that turns out to be the fix.

Consider buying an in-line fuel filter (between tank & carb) and next time you have the carb apart check the wire gauze filter behind the float needle valve is not full of shit.
