Carb jetting

what the hay. i pulled my carb out on my 1994 xt600EFC. i went to clean it out because it was sitting for about 7 years. The screw in jet that fits to the bottom was all messed up when i tried to unscrew it. I was able to drill it out without damaging the threads in the carb. I ended up ordering another main jet(104) part number 288-14343-52-00 from a website. it is supposed to be the on in the pic under part number 40 in the exploded view. The original one that i messed up used a slotted screw driver to put it in. now, the one I got from the website looks just like a brass bolt. there is no way that this will screw into the area that the jet goes into. so, what is the correct parts? I attached a pic of the part and where it is supposed to fit in.

thanks for the part number xt600e north wales. apparently, yamaha has the part number for the secondary main jet for the 1994 xt600 listed wrong. this is not on just one website for it goes for the whole system. am i the only one that tried to order this for the 94 xt600?

That part you have on the first picture,(the long metal piece and the short screw are #36 an #37 and not the #40...

which part do you actually need?

the parts in the picture are 36 and 41. 41 is the one that came out of the carb. #36 is the one that got sent to me. I know its wrong but the dealers keep insisting that it is the correct part number. I went and ordered the correct one. here is the email that i received from a yamaha parts supplier:

Thanks for writing in! the main jet you are returning will not have a restocking fee. According to Yamaha, the part number for item #40 on the list is 288-14343-52-00, this item is for a 1994 model. Item 30X-14343-52-00 is not listed for a 94 model. Before the item is purchased we would suggest that you check with your local mechanic to verify that 30X-14343-52-00 is what you actually need.

look up number 40 for a 1994 xt600 under carburators. It will come up with the 288 part number in all the sites. it funny cuz it only come up for the 1994. if you look up 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, or 1995, it will have the correct part. I think yamaha goofed and im the only guy that ever ordered one or they just never bothered correcting the part numbers.
