OK, now i realize where you are and that getting boots might not be that easy. at least the ordering shouldnt be hard no? guess getting out of customs is the problem?

There is a limit to how short you can make the metal adapter on the right, the M6 bolt heads have to fit between the metal ears and the rubber part....

If space is tight (and it looks like that in the XT600) you might have to fix the metal adapter with conical screws sunk into the ears.... a bit more tricky. See how I know... (even if this is a pic of GSXR750 carbs I attached to a GSXR1100, but same idea/issue )

If at the end you end up with "too long boots" or the carbs more away form the head you will have trouble fitting the airbox boots and thats a new set of problems to solve. :P

See why i dont recommend?

Am I missing something? Why not buy actual XT600 carb boots when they are $5?

the whole thread started with a complaint of aftermarket ones shrinking.....

the "generic tube option" came later :)

for a part that maybe gets changed every 5 or more years I would go for OEM boots.

Better than than risk with unknown aliexpress rubber material (they must save somewhere...) that disintegrates in the middle of nowhere.

several good points, thanks.

for "that" future my initial plan (if it will not be much harder then creating ones from the very beginning) was to make adapters from metal bases of old boots, and fitting issues might be sorted more smoothly. at least there's no time/functionality pressure so far, let's see how this plans will develop.

about ordering - it's very common practice, and mostly the only option. issues/delays by customs used to happen, depends sometimes on the price or weight, sometimes random/unpredictable, but after some time/effort arranging this issues are quite feasible.
