cam chain tensioner..ttr600

I know the tensioner is automatic BUT I'm aware they can/do stick.

Is there a simple process for removing the adjuster and resetting it?..

I ask as this is a common problem on zrx1200's, there's even a manual upgrade!

Yeah.

Just take it out, reset it and put It back in.

But unless it's broken, why fix it ?

I believe all's well with the cam chain tensioner. I guess I'm still not comfortable with the noise the engine makes.
More of a peace of mind thing.

By all means take it out and check it. It will do no harm. You might need a new gasket when you put it back on though. Depending on the design.

If you have a rattley motor which sounds like cam chain rattle then you will be better off changing the cam chain and tensioner spring.

However, there are a thousand reasons why your engine is noisy.

Why not take a video of the noise and post it up.

XT's generally are a noisy motor though.

I think the engines sounds great compared to simular bikes, and much better than quite a few of the orange ones.

But I guess it depends on what you compare them with.

+1, my stock xt600e is extremely quite, has only 35k km though

my xtz660 racemotor on the other hand sounds like its going to explode when cold :)

not that hard to modify the stock tensioner into manual, done this in my race motor for safety
