Buying an XT ! advise needed
 

Hi folks, sorry for what might seam a stupid question. I'm new to bikes and am trying to understand the Yamaha XT range say from 1988 onwards. So far I’ve been offered an xt550, 600, 660, xtz660 and 750 Teneré.

The plan is to buy a reliable bike for touring and some off road and have a budget of around €2000. Touring includes, Spain, Morocco, Greece, Nordic countries and I hope further a-field.

Which is the most suitable in my circumstances! Beginner rider, 6’2.,maybe passenger in future.

I’ve fallen for a XTZ750 Super Teneré but am unsure of its true history; I’ve also been offered a 93 XTZ660 44k, kms – what should I look for when buying, what are the typical weak spots?
