You can see Geoff's rebuilds here, he's done two 3AJ rebuilds now & is working his way through 3AJ rebuilds numbers 3 & 4.

Plus Geoff's also doing a Super Tenere as well.:D

Ive already voted for him.

Mezo.

anaconda moto 31 Aug 2011 01:56

Thanks Mezo for the link!

Nice job on the Tenere, and the link really brings to life what might otherwise look like a pretty standard rebuild project with a fancy set of rims (Ever the Evil's Advocate, me!) Still, it'll get one of my votes - it would be nice to see something with useful long forks on the CN Calendar!

But don't forget there are 12 bikes of the 50 that can get to be featured on the Calendar. I know it's not a Yamaha, but while you are there voting for the XT, have a good look at my mate Andy's Featherbed Harley that is also in the top 50 - it's a true custom with a heavily modded frame to fit the Sportster lump (an 883 taken to 1200, non standard carb, ignition etc), custom tank, seat, shaved Harley forks with a BSA drum etc etc. And it's no show bike - he rides it hard -I've been to France with him, and numerous rallies in the UK: more than 10k miles since the build up. To finally convince you, Andy is one of the brethren - he also owns a neat early Tenere!

Now, that is nice!!!!

BUMP.. :oops2:

Come on guys (and gals) PLEASE register your vote now!

HERE - http://www.britainsgotbikingtalent.c...gbt_voting.php

This is after all a Yamaha XT600 sub-forum.

The fact you're looking at this thread must mean you have an interest in the XT600 series of bikes. Surely the least we can ALL do is take the (short) time to register a vote in the XT's favour....

I'd say one of the best XT restorations EVER? Plus it's an early & rare Tenere model. Not many left in this condition.

If we all vote then this bike (and in particular the XT600 series of bikes) will (in this competition anyway) get the recognition it deserves. :thumbup1:

You got my vote too Geoff, the white one looks really nice.
All the best, Dave

kenymact 2 Sep 2011 04:08

Me too....

Mezo 2 Sep 2011 10:33

I reckon Geoff should have entered 3AJ number two, it has the S10 front end fitted & probably the best mod that can be done to a 3AJ.

I must say that it's a pity Geoff didn't pay as much attention to his write up about the bike than the actual restoration (the hard bit). It would be nice to learn a bit of history on the bike and the work carried out. :thumbup1:

Geoff's is the ONLY one listed there without a proper detailed write-up. :(

Come on Geoff, put it right for us all... bier

Ya hey, but that was before seeing the assembled product in it's entirety. That all blends and compliments each other extremely well now, great vision on behalf of Geoff:thumbup1:

Now to use the bike in anger :innocent:

G30ff 14 Sep 2011 17:05

Hi guys .... thanks for all the nice comments & votes & thanks to Mez for
standing in for me & replying to posts while I'm struggling over in Majorca
I would have posted a longer write up on the competition page, but I never expected to get this far. It's in the motor cycle news today for anyone in the uk. bier
