Anyone know of am XT being broken??

Howdy,

Just failed my MOT on a lame ass back shock/spring unit. It does sit quite low (my legs are bent!).

Anyway, I have my ticket for the uk meeting, and no bike. Does anyone know anyone with one? I believe they're pretty much the same all the way through - mine's an 86 1vj.

Dave Lambeth has them, but I'm a bit below his price range.

much appreciated,

jim

Hi

Try Partsearch on 0906 1119999.
I had to replace mine about a year ago, and found a perfect one for about £75.

Good luck
Dave

how many different parts finders are there? I'e tried a couple, and got one quote for £120. Thing is, I've no ay of knowing whether it's usable or not.

I am right that an xt600e one will fit an 1vj????

Try the german Ebay, there's lots more than on the English site.I've bought a few things and the postage has always been suprisingly cheap to the U.K.

Cheers Fish.

Thanks for your help. Have an £80 2001 jobbie heading my way, bikes' half dismantled on axle stands waiting for it.

Cured an oil leak (starter cover gasket) and fixed the neutral switch (wire had chaffed in a little groove it runs through).

Still don't have the starter working (£350 for the sprag and gear!), but I have the kick start down to a fine art. Some scally kids came up to me in a petrol station when I was cranking it after running out of gas "'ere mister, look at the size of the bike, and then look at the size of you"

anyway, ta

Do you need a starter motor? I have one off a 86 Tenere. jbwevns@aol.com

Over here we have the rear dampers rebuilt for about 50 Sterling. Better than new and adjusted to your weight/riding etc.
