anyone have a 1984 XT600 stator for sale?

My stator charge windings are burned out. Anyone have a replacement?

Look into KLR650 stators as a retrofit . They do fit but I don't have the info on what has to be fitted , I believe they bolt right up or only need new holes drilled. Wire connectors changed . It would need to be pre '08's so '93 to '07 , they're the ones with the ignition circuit rather than running off the battery.

Way cool and thank you!

Mine is an '84 and I notice quite a few changes between '84 and '90. Are that stators compatible across the (kick start only) years?

'84 thru '89 are the kickers , '90-'95(USA) are the e-starts ,much of the bikes and motors changed . Stators are quite different and can't be interchanged. The kickers have 2 poles on the stators that run the ignition so they can run even if the battery is dead , the E-starts run off the battery and the stators don't have the 2 ignition pole just more charging poles. It's the same with the KLR stators , thus why the need for pre-'08 stators.

Thanks JJrider!

I bought a KLR stator from Ebay seller Caltric. It was $36 including shipping. I have not removed the old one, but I notice the new one has three white wires to go to the reg/rect as opposed to the original 2 wires. Will I need a matching reg/rect? Also the 2 wires going to the CDI are the same color on both units. That seems a big co-incidence - do I simply match up those wires to the same colors on the wiring harness?

I'm not sure on how it all gets wired up ,I haven't done it myself, I think that's in the link I posted . Might be that one wire can be left unplugged ???
