Another new 660 on Ebay...

yamaha 660 tenere 2008 only 450 miles as new condition on eBay, also, Yamaha, Motorcycles Scooters, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Sep-08 17:29:37 BST)

There has been quite a few of these recently. They do 200 to 400 miles and lose at least £1,000 - just on the bike, before insurance and other costs. I know it happens with other bikes too, but why.... ? If I had over £5,000 to spend on a new bike I would select carefully and make damn sure I wasn't going to go off it before it is even run in. What a waste....... and of course a great win for the next owner :)

HI
As with most bikes on e.bay they are genuine but ive now heard of a few people who have lost money on bikes that were on e.bay, Paying a deposit on line and then turnning up to find that the bike is not that shown on e.bay, the one shown was a library pic and they had bid on this, i myself had a guy e.mail me with a second chance offer to buy his bike and asking for a deposit, this was for a bike which i new was all ready sold because my friend had all ready picked it up. I think in this day and age its best to go see the bike before you bid and then pay on collection, never pay anything up front. Its a shame because there are genuine buyers and sellers out there, and its these that lose out in the end. Skip

I often watch Bonnevilles on ebay and low mileage bikes come up all the time; chromed-up weekend warriors, male menopause, retirement 'present', illness, or whatever reason.

Best recently was a April '07 Bonneville Black with extras and less than 200 miles, no reserve, sold for £3110. That's something like £2500 knocked off in 14 months.

I have only seen a couple of XTZ for sale so far. The height could be an issue for inexpirienced riders. I am still glad I managed to get a new bike but a saving of over £700 certainly looks good for someone who didnt manage to get one new. At the moment none of the dealers can give a date for next delivery.

I believe the problem is with the demand for the engines with three or more bikes in the range all using the same engine.:scooter:

I wouldn't want to undermine Chris selling his eBay bargain on again... but as of last week, both Woods in North Wales and Fowlers Bristol still had one new Tenere each in stock in the Desert Khaki colour...

As for the ex-press bike Chris, wouldn't the one you've just got be a better bet? (especially if they are the same money as you say?) - I saw the pictures from the launch tests, looks like they could have had a hard 'childhood'...
