Alternative clutch & brake levers for XT ?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a make and supplier in the UK of less easily damaged clutch and front brake levers for a 1991 XT600E?

I had previously thought that having fitted Acerbis hand guards that bolt to the end of the handle bars, the original levers would be protected. However, it was dropped from stationary a couple of weeks ago and the original clutch lever snapped!

Thanks for any suggestions

Mine is always just bending.

try to loosen up your protectors and your levers, so upon landing, they'll just move/slide, softening the impact a lot.

what accerbis hand gaurds are you using? mine work fine they fit round the levers so its impossible to hit the levers from the front or the side :thumbup1:

Hi,

The hand guards are Acerbis Rally Brush, I think a rock must have come up from underneith to have broken the lever, they are well protected from front and side impacts.

The 'keep the lever mounts a little loose' trick is a good tip, bit I didn't think it would be necessary with these guards on.

I'm sure that less brittle levers are made for off road bikes, has anyone found any that fit XT600s?
