Being me, it's overfilled, definitely. I got a little paranoid about maintenance after getting almost dry in the Pyrenees. I had just changed a chain worn because of not lubbing at all and riding with rain. Jens, a video of me kicking 200 times could be too boring! (I didn't plan to recharge the battery!).

Brakes, good thought. I could have crashed (fortunately only) an orchard nearby.

A close-up of the engine. If there is decompression cable (i see the cable going to the engine), how does it work???? Pulling somewheere? (I never got the book fo the 3UX, only copies of others)

Thanks to all, I cannot wait to get on the bike. :scooter:I just bought the last Rev'it Off Track in the Iberian Peninsula (40% discount), and cannot wait to try it too! Packing tonight, leaving tomorrow towards the bike...

Yup, it's there..

It works by relieving the compression when you slowly kick to get it to TDC.
It does this by pulling the cable whilst it makes the decompressor valve open and release the compression..

I don't know how to adjust it tho because although I have the parts to make it a manual decompressor, I never ended up fitting them lol

Don't worry, the amount you overfilled will end up being dumped on its own..

No plates, no XT...

Sadly, I clashed with Swiss bureaucracy... (only for 2 weeks longer than) 1 year away I need new plates and cannot get back the old ones (more cash to spend...), but it also meant authorities decided "residence permit on stand-by". So no permit up-to-date, no new plates, no XT. doh Really sad thing.

So, sorting out the permit and waiting for the bike. At least, if I look at the positive side, I am reading again a lot in the bus! :smartass: (great weather now in a short good season and no bike anyway, buaaah!)

'95 3UX XT600e running!

Thanks to all for the wise advice!!!!

Kick starting was impossible (I still limp because of the soars!). Tried to charge the battery a whole night. Nothing, actually it was dead. More kicking, but no chance.

Then new battery and after many tries IT STARTED! Lots of smoke and rattling, but running. Only downside, needs a lot to be done, not running too well and overheating, I'd say. But happy it's there again and could enjoy it for a (short) ride:mchappy:. Miss her too much, so very happy now!:D:D:D:D

PS1: Same fuel, just mixed today with newer one (felt guilty to throw it away!)
PS2: No video as asked to, but some photos.
