'86 xt600 & tenere drum brake wheels?

Hi all

Could anyone tell me if a back wheel from a tenere drum brake bike would be ok to fit on a '86 xt600 43f model?

Thanks for any feedback

cheers

If I remember correct the svingarm is diffrent where the brake sadel sits (the slot that keeps it from rotating with the wheel) but Im not 100% sure.

Also the swingarm is 10mm narrower (teh 86 tenere had a wider crank case for the electric starter) so the spacer on the hub will be longer so you will have to fit the std XT drum hub. I helped a mate do the opposite (std xt swing arm on a 86 Tenere). Hope this helps.

hi
Thanks for your answers guys.

So if i've got the standard drum hub to fit to the tenere wheel i should be ok?
Sorry to be a bit dense but just want to make sure before i buy the wheel.

Drum brake

Yep,
the wheels are the same, only the swing arm and hence the spacer in the brake hub are wider on the Tenere. So a wheel (Tenere or std XT) will fit either so long as you match the brake hub to the swing arm (ie bike model).
Regards,
Dave
