3aj rebuild complete
 

Just got my 3aj up and running with a 1mm over bore,heavy duty EBC clutch,new Yamaha cam chain,cleaned up the head,new valve seals,new needle bearing in the rear swing arm linkage.
She had 108,000kms on an original piston with some slight scoring on the barrel due to piston slap. Big difference between the old piston fit and the new one.
The cam chain was only fractionally stretched,the tensioner and guides were like new. Probably would have run for another 100k except a valve seal was leaking pretty badly and when I was in that far,I treated her.
Oh yes, a kickstart conversion too.
Ready for the big trip....when ever,where ever.
This is the bike to do it,bullet proof engineering.
I think I'll run it in up the west coast of Ireland with my tent on the back.:scooter:

ll done cathal....I did a rebuild for the first time on my xt and was still going great when I sold it....good feeling eh!
