3AJ RACK FITTING

Hi guys,

Sorry for the naff question, I have a second hand Super Tenere rack which I'm modifying to fit my 3AJ, so far so good. I need to know how low the box holding round frame is - can someone advise eg when your bike is upright how far from the bottom of the frame to the floor....

Thanks in advance

Hi

are you fitting a rear rack on the tail for a top box or panier rails?

Hi braindead,
I'm fitting side panniers, the bike is fitted with a Yamaha rear rack. I have these super tenere loops and are making fittings for the loop to the bike frame. I have a front mounting, two upper mountings and an arc for the rear side movement.

I'm trying to work out how low the loops should be on the side of the bike as I dont want to fit the boxes too hight / low..

I have Touratech racks on my XT600E. The loops sit at a slight angle. The distance between the lower edge of the tubing of the front lower corner of the loop and the floor is approx. 22" (56cm) when the bike is upright with no-one sitting on it. The rear lower corner of the loop is about 1" - 1.5" higher. Hope this is clear and helps.
Matt
PS- I should mention the bike is being held upright, not on a centre stand!
