3aj clutch drag
First off i don't know all the technical terms so i will describe as best i can.
My engine has just been rebuilt as my 5th gear gave up some time ago, since then it has been put back together. The clutch however for some reason drags. When i took a closer look, when the mach put the clutch assembly back there was a stuff up some where. The basket comprises of three main components, 1 rings , 2 outer basket and 3 the inner basket. When the center nut is tightened, the inner basket does not run free. The inner basket sits proud of the spline and hence once the nut is tightened, it squeezes everything together. Why does it sit proud? I don't know, I know this is an obscure problem so if anyone can help. |
Washer?
Although you made a good effort, your explanation is not entirely clear to me.
However, make sure that the special washer is installed between outer an dinner basket, on the gearbox input shaft. It is a fairly fat washer with splines in the hole. If you install the outer and inner clutch basket, without the plates, the inner basket should drive the gearbox input shaft without driving the outer basket. Auke |
Clutch Drag is a drag
That is exactly what does not happen, when tightenned up, the inner basket also turns the outer one
