2000 XTE spring on 94 model?

I d like to know if a 2000 XTE rear spring can fit on a 94 XTE model, knowing that those are two different models ( 89->94// 95->2003). Thanks for your expertise.

I hope this information will help a fellow traveller...one day :innocent:

Sorry but your question was about the spring only or the complete shock absorber? Because shocks are interchangeable (same lenght and holes), but asking about the spring ONLY is a bit strange question... unless spring is somehow broken, usually idraulic part of the shock is the first one to die.

Thanks for your answer cyberzar. The central/rear spring of the bike i left in Argentina is leaking oil. Since the bike has now 65000 km i thought it might be a good idea to bring a spare one to continue my trip.

I m not mechanic which obviously is visible from your remark. In your opinion what should i do? Get it fixed by one of the local mecanics (150 to 300 pesos) or bring a new one...the only one i could find was from a 2000 xte (22000 km)
